Seattle Seahawks’ Ugo Amadi was recently named Special Teams MVP through his hard work his rookie year, following his success at the University of Oregon as the first Duck ever to receive the Vince Lombardi Award.
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee as a second-generation Nigerian immigrant and the youngest of five, Ugo spends his off-season at home with his family, including his many nieces and nephews.
Looking toward the future, Ugo hopes not only to continue his successful career with the Seahawks but to realize his passion for community outreach by creating programs in both Nashville and Seattle to empower young black boys to live limitless and unapologetic lives despite social and systemic hurdles. He is also interested in learning more about his parents’ native Imo state, Nigeria, and the specific ways he can meet the community’s needs.
This is just the beginning.
